So, what do I actually do?
At the CRN Sales & Marketing awards last week, I had an absolute blast. Not only did I get to spend the evening with my fellow judges, who are excellent human beings, but I caught up with so many colleagues and friends from the industry, including some I hadn’t seen for years. It was wonderful. Of course, most people know I work for myself now (almost 4 years and counting), but they’re not entirely sure what I do. Inevitably therefore I got asked the question a lot ‘So what do you actually do?’

1:1 ABM Case Study
My client, a US tech company, was looking to build awareness for their brand, but also open key conversations and build new pipeline with major UK retailers. In most cases, these retailers were not previously aware of my client, so there was a lot to do!

Time for a brand refresh!
Considering I chose perhaps just about the worst possible time to launch my business, She/Her Ltd – just before everything went crazy with Covid – I’m delighted to say that almost 3 years later I’m still here!
I’m not sure there’s ever a perfect time to start working for yourself and certainly both times I have, it’s come about because of a big change in my life which has necessitated it, and I’ve had to make it happen quickly!
Mid-life crisis, anyone?
I had a conversation last week with a friend/ex-colleague/current customer (by the way – I love this combination! I remember when I was just starting out my boss told me you couldn’t be friends with people at work – what a load of absolute bollocks! Also, sorry – got distracted really early there!)…about the menopause. Why am I writing about that you may ask? And in fact, I’ve asked myself the same question. It’s not something I ever thought I’d write about in a business context.
#WeRunTogether - the 2021 London Marathon and why I ran it
Some of you know that I ran the London Marathon this weekend! I’ve had so many lovely messages of support in the run up, on the day and afterwards that I feel a bit overwhelmed, and very humbled by it all. So, I thought I’d give you a quick run down of it by way of a ‘thank you’.
Running the 2021 London Marathon for Mermaids
Hi everyone - just posting this here so it's easier for people to find! There's my original post below which tells you a little more about why I'm running the virtual London Marathon for Mermaids this year. (By the way, virtual still means doing all the miles on the London Marathon day! It's just via an app rather than in London.)
Partner ABM – What is it and is it right for you? (If you’re a vendor, or a partner)
Account Based Marketing (ABM) is certainly not new in the B2B Marketing world – it’s growing exponentially, and more and more marketers are getting on board. Although some dismiss it as just the next ‘big thing’, there’s good evidence to suggest that ABM is here to stay.
The power of connection and community - and how to be happier!
How are you? Now take a moment…how *are* you? This time round, I think lockdown feels harder and it’s a feeling I’m hearing quite a lot. Certainly my kids are struggling with endless Teams calls (we all know how that feels!) and in meetings people that I’m talking with are saying the same. Maybe it’s the damp and cold weather, maybe it’s the fact that somehow we feel like we’ve lost a year or maybe it’s just been too long without seeing (and hugging!) our friends and family. But it’s hard at the moment for many of us.
What are successful business leaders looking forward to in 2021?
We’ve had helluva year for sure. For many of us it’s been a period of stress and sadness, but I also think a lot of good has come out of it to. In many ways, the pandemic has allowed us all to focus on what’s really important – our friends, families and connection. In the first lockdown I actually really enjoyed having so much time at home with my family – and walks round the village in glorious sunshine where everyone said hello and there was a real atmosphere of ‘we’re in this together’.
