Time for a brand refresh!
Considering I chose perhaps just about the worst possible time to launch my business, She/Her Ltd – just before everything went crazy with Covid – I’m delighted to say that almost 3 years later I’m still here!
I’m not sure there’s ever a perfect time to start working for yourself and certainly both times I have, it’s come about because of a big change in my life which has necessitated it, and I’ve had to make it happen quickly!
So, looking back over my old website, copy and brand, it had all done the job it needed to do at the time – get me back out there as myself, but it didn’t really reflect where I’m at now and where I want to be.
If you read my last blog (Mid-life crisis, anyone?), you’ll know that hitting the big 5-0 was a period of huge reflection for me. (Not least because I realised I’m probably too old to ever be an apprentice Jedi, now ☹)
Perhaps I finally feel like I’ve grown up. (Although I’m still usually first to smile at the smutty jokes.) And I thought it was time that my brand and website reflected the work I do now.
Step forward, Fiona Wilson. I’ve got to know Fi better and better over the last year since I’ve been attending her weekly art classes on a Monday night (complete with cake and wine…what could be better?!). Over the year I’ve really enjoyed messing about with art stuff, which I hadn’t done since school and meeting a small community of really amazing people. Last month – we even did our first art club exhibition and I was ridiculously proud of us all!
Anyway, Fi is a fantastic artist in her own right and I talked to her about wanting to refresh my brand and website – and now you can see the result!
Fi created a brilliant new logo for me which I love; it reminds me of 80s tech and being in the tech industry and made me feel all nostalgic and reminded me why I love working so much in the channel. And then the website and colour palette all got updated to something more modern, clean and fluid, to reflect the ‘human’ and flexible way I work.
I’m super lucky to work with some absolutely brilliant clients, many of which are now friends as well (or were friends, colleagues and clients in the past!). I only ever work with a handful of companies at a time because the work I do best and love best is designing and delivering marketing strategy which aligns with business goals - and coming up with new and creative ways of connecting humans together.
I feel like the website helps reflect my work much better now and I hope you like it! A big thanks to all my wonderful customers/friends/network who helped me get to this point and here’s to another 20 years in the channel..? And a big thanks to Fi for helping bring my ideas to life. I’d love to know what you think about the new look, so drop me a comment or message! 😊
